Meet the Luminaries: Sei

In the world of The Dream, the elves are not the oldest beings in existence, but they are close. The fey lordTitania created the first elves, beings of embodied joy, but as her wondrous creations traveled, the other fey created new elves to serve them as scouts and emissaries between the Aspects of existence. As such, elves combine fey immortality with mortal curiosity.

Sei was born as a herald for the Fey Lord of Song, attuned to the harmonies of The Dream from his first moment of consciousness. Dancing to the pure songs of budding existence, Sei traveled far and wide on his master’s behalf before discovering The City, an enclave of mortality and imagination where beastlings, elves, humans, and machina all gather. Entranced by the sights and sounds of this world, so different than the singular Aspects of existence to which he had become accustomed while traveling The Dream, Sei quickly made numerous friends.

Years have passed now since the last time Sei spoke to the Lord of Song. Having become a bard of some acclaim, Sei now accompanies delvers seeking to explore the depths of The Dream, using his experience to help the navigate the dangerous pathways of the unexplored and his unique gift for transforming song and rhythm into healing energy to protect his new allies from harm. Though Sei enjoys his new life and his new friends, a part of him still wonders if his actions do not make him a traitor to the lord who willed him into being, and if that treachery might not one day cost him everything he has gained since he abandoned his duties.
